“The 2012 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III”

“The 2012 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III”

The SONA of the President is very important to the people because it deals about the standing of our country. This is his third SONA and he report one by one all the changes and success from the beginning of his tenure as a President of the state.

The SONA of PNoy was quite too long compared to other SONAs of other state/presidents but still there’s nothing difference when he speech in public to deliver his nation’s address. Even if many people believed that Aquino’s Administration is slow moving but surely progress. He was just only moving step by step to reach out his promises to us. He almost mentions all the development happens in the Philippines but those successes is not yet enough because there is some improvement that needs to be attained as the head of the state.

It’s not easy of the President to completely fulfill his promises but he was trying to do his duty in providing good governance in our country and give attention to all problems facing by every Filipinos, President Noynoy Aquino is highlighted the government corruptions happened from the past administration and also comparing his accomplishment to the GMA administration. It might view to the mind of the public that be really blamed the wasted years during the term of GMA administration by serving the people with integrity.

However, President must not focus on bashing those personnel serving in the public/removing them on their position who are involved on the corruption of GMA Administration. Instead, he must look forward to the progress of the economy and become more aware of what are those problems which are not given a chance to resolve. And become more progressive not only for himself but for all of us.

The SONA contains the boosts that the country has received a positive international commentary: the improving economic environment, the credit upgrade by major credit rating companies and the positive investment endorsement coming from major investment banking groups and institutions.

And also, he provides enough funds from small sector to big sector of our country and from local to national budget.

In general, the SONA was clear to the public in listening his speech because he was commonly used the national language which is Tagalog. It may not be 100% PROGRESSIVE but it is 100% IMPRESSIVE.

Is it true that it's only "enough" funds that he gave? What if it will lack?

  6. Yes, it is true. Pnoy needs some time to prove himself worthy of his position. Though our economy's progress is not as fast we have hoped for due to our country's large debt. Billions, maybe even trillions of peso lost and hoarded by some of our officials. This alone may be our basis on why we cannot judge Pnoy from being "slow", in terms of the economic progress in his reign as our president. :)

  7. As my part as an OFW Pnoy has no proper agenda for us, working abroad..even in his SONA He did not tell about his Plans for the Filipinos who are working in the middle of war like in Syria and Nigeria pirates. we deliver dollars but what we have in return increase of OWWA payments(but we cannot loan on that money).even in PHILHEALTH many OFW did not benefited on the money they contribute...(bagkus kami pa ang ginagawa nilang gatasan ng pera pang bayad sa mga utang ng PHILHEALTH)...they must investigate the embasies abroad bec.their are payments that have no receipt....
and the developments like road and airport even the tourism promotion that's an old project of gloria,,,PGMA cook the food and PNOY just eat it..sugapa pa!!!!
I vote pinoy last election but im disappointed in his SONA....

It would be much better if he acts his words.. I truly agree w/ this quote. But he did fairly well in his SONA. Let's just wait if all his promises will all come true.

  10. as to the SONA, well it has been well said by the President but we are not after on how the Speech is delivered but on what's really "inside" the SONA. I'm just kinda devastated to note that one of the most talked about issue in the country was not tackled in his speech, th "RH bill" though he mentioned "responsible parenthood" which is somewhat related to the RH bill, it does not directly implies the truth about the amendment of the law, will it still be passed? well, that's maybe one of the issues that the President needs to clear up.

  12. It's not how impressive he had delivered his speech but it is the content of the speech he had delivered to the Filipino people, the content of his speech could not be as impressive as what we had hope for, yet we can still hope for the best that he can do for this country, let us just wait that all of his promises to the Filipino people will come true....

  13. Dear Allan,
You've presented well your views toward Pnoy's SONA and I explicitly agree on you. Well to make it more clear, Pnoy wasn't really able to address everything what the people wanted to hear from him. First, he haven't mention his stand for the INFORMATION BILL (*which is really essential for us, 'coz it's for the sake of transparency and might lessen our doubts and could strengthen our trusts); also he didn't give any statements for the issues about human rights; what about the worker's low wages or the contractualization? Likewise, he claimed a lot of fulfillments and accomplishments yet we don't feel any. He said "economy is boosting", then why the oil prices, electric bills, basic commodities, etc are high? Yeah, it's really up to us to judge.. But thanks ALLAN!

    YOUR FRIEND,
    JEHO

  14. The people have spoken and they chose to trust Pnoy to lead the battered ship of State. And he have proven that our future is in his hands. I just hope that we (people) will think PRACTICALLY! Bravo PNoy !
